Consists of conference papers and book chapters by Rulan Chao Pian on Peking opera. Includes:

-Rewriting of an act of the Yuan drama, Lii Kwei Fuh Jing, in the style of the Peking Opera : a fieldworker's experiment (presented at the CHINOPERL Conference on April 5, 1970, Berkeley, California). 19 sheets (pages 19-[37]). Typescript (photocopy). Focuses on the process by which an opera writer might put the various parts together, based on two sessions of conversation, in total of 5 hours, recorded on tape, between Yang Hsi-mei (interviewee) and Rulan Chao Pian (interviewer) in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 8-9, 1970. On the overall plan of the sequence of arias and text-setting. Includes Chinese text on 王林, 魯智深, 宋江, 正末, and transcription aria 1-5, 搖板、快板、二六 (Note 2)
