Biographical / Historical

蕭輝楷（1926-1992），筆名有陳虹、方皡、程庶、魯明，四川宜賓人，重慶南開中學畢業後考入西南聯合大學主修哲學。抗戰時應號召參加外事局譯員訓練班，以「三級翻譯官」身份服務。抗戰勝利後回到北京大學復學。1949年南來香港，翌年到國立台灣大學進修，同時在當地任教省立師範學院附屬中學。1951年獲得日本佛教學會的獎學金到東京大學研究所研究東西哲學。

1957年返港，接任友聯出版社的總編輯及友聯圖書編譯所所長。1962年自資創辦河洛出版社及河洛印刷廠，出版《知識生活半月刊》並擔任主編。其後專注教育工作，先後受聘於香港浸會大學、能仁書院、珠海學院、遠東書院、華僑大學等教授文學、歷史、哲學和擔任行政職務，亦為《工商日報》、《星島日報》、《華僑日報》等報刊撰寫專欄。1976-1982年間出任《時代生活叢書》的中文叢書部副總編輯。著有《哲學問題論集》、《蕭輝楷文學評論集》，以及其他有關文學、歷史、哲學、佛學、中西文化、中文排字研究等文章，曾改編歌德《少年維特的煩惱》作舞台劇。
