Biographical / Historical

鮑漢琳（1919-2007），人稱「鮑叔」，演員、編劇、導演。

中學時已對戲劇有濃厚興趣，就讀皇仁書院及衛城道華僑中學期間多次演出話劇。1939年到昆明國立西南聯合大學念書，一年後因病暫停學業。香港淪陷後前往澳門，機緣巧合下加入張雪峰新成立的藝聯劇團，首部參演的話劇是《雷雨》，後隨團在澳門和廣州灣演出。1943年回到西南聯合大學繼續學業。抗戰勝利後鮑漢琳回到廣州，重新加入藝聯劇團，演出《茶花女》、《日出》、《明末遺恨》等話劇。

及後回到香港，在監獄署（今懲教署）任教育官，工餘不忘參加戲劇演出。1952年中英學會中文戲劇組成立，1954年參演了《心焰》，1957年才正式加入中文戲劇組，演出之餘為戲劇組編寫及翻譯了多部戲劇作品，包括《並無虛言》、《妙想天開》、《無妻之累》、《三笑緣》、《欽差大臣》等。1959年導演《樑上佳人》，1963年至1966年出任戲劇組主席一職。劇場以外亦擔任校際戲劇比賽評判。

1974年從公職退休，轉為全職演員，演出電影、電視作品《一屋兩伙三人行》、《秦始皇》、《賭神》等，至九十年代後期逐漸減少幕前演出。2007年病逝於倫敦。
