Early spring

Has the embryonic stir
Of hibernal ancient China
Spread all the way down
To this southernmost Peninsula, nerve ending,
So that a vernal drizzle
Awakes the itchy earth
By the bite of teething buds?
Along the rolling slope
On this northern coast,
Chane to pick any stone
And throw to the void of sky and sea
Could, by magic nostalgic,
Become a twittering swallow
And come all the way back from the haunting eaves
Of my long lost childhood

四根晶亮的小銀管
管端的細孔用綫穿
垂在玩具木屋的四角
便成了精靈的小樂器
任由過路的風
或是搖擺的車身
即興輕輕地敲弄
那是痴心的情人啊
繫在你翡麗車窗內
後視鏡上的風鈴
只為了一念痴想
每次有鈴聲叮噹
都提醒美麗的車主
別忘了遙遠的南方
在浪打長堤的港上
從日升到日落
從星起到星沉
念經一般
長念着她的那人
