Biographical / Historical

屈志仁（1936-　）為著名晚明遺民屈大均的後嗣，於香港出生，在香港完成初中後，前往英國讀書，後考入牛津大學，1959年獲文學碩士學位。1960年屈志仁教授返回香港，任香港大學物理系助教，並跟隨林仰山、羅香林、饒宗頤諸教授問學四年。1964年屈教授獲任為香港大會堂助理館長。1971年香港中文大學中國文化研究所新廈落成，內設文物館，屈教授出任創館館長，並任新亞書院藝術系講師。1981年離開香港管理波士頓美術博物館亞洲部。1985年前往紐約大都會美術館出任中國古器物及工藝品高級顧問，後升任亞洲藝術部高級主任及亞洲藝術部主席，為大都會博物館建立及管理亞洲藝術部。2008年獲香港中文大學頒授榮譽院士。2011年退休時獲美國大都會博物館亞洲藝術部名譽館長之銜，同年回到香港中文大學擔任利榮森中國文化講座教授。
