Biographical / Historical

葉靈鳳（1905-1975），原名葉蘊璞，江蘇南京人，筆名葉林豐、佐木華、任訶、霜崖和秋生等。

童年於江蘇鎮江生活，1924年往上海美術專科學校學習。1925年加入創造社，並與周全平合編《洪水》半月刊，1926 年和潘漢年合編《幻洲》半月刊，1928 年主編《現代小說》和《戈壁》。1930年加入中國左翼作家聯盟，翌年被左聯開除。1934 年與穆時英合辦《文藝畫報》。1935年任時代國書公司總編輯。

1937 年抗日戰爭爆發，與夏衍、郭沫若等創辦《救亡日報》，上海淪陷後遷往廣州繼續出版。1938年，廣州淪陷前抵香港，此後一直定居香港，至 1975 年病逝。

葉靈鳳抵港初時任《立報》副刊編輯，後加入《星島日報》主編副刊〈星座〉至退休。此外，他曾主編《國民日報》副刊、《萬人週報》、《新東亞》和《國風》等。1939年，與葉恭綽、簡又文等創辦中華全國文藝界抗戰協會香港分會並任理事。1941年香港淪陷後，創辦《大眾週報》和《時事週報》。葉靈鳳早年以小說創作聞名，晚年多寫散文隨筆，作品散見於報刊，並喜研究香港掌故，有關著述輯錄為《香港方物志》、《香海浮沉錄》和《張保仔的傳說和真相》等。葉靈鳳亦是藏書家，其家人把他晚年的大部份藏書捐贈予香港中文大學圖書館。
